On Thursday, October 11, the United Nations launched a five-year initiative entitled “Accelerating Progress Toward the Economic Empowerment of Rural Women”. The program seeks to empower rural women through food security and economic integration initiatives. It will be carried out jointly by UN Women, the FAO, IFAD, and the WFP.
